Administrative Assistant/Secretary

The job of an administrative assistant is to help an office run smoothly. Administrative assistants can work in all types of companies. They do things like answer phone calls, give information to callers, and schedule meetings. In addition, they photocopy documents, take meeting notes, make travel arrangements, and organize computer and paper files. They frequently use fax machines, photocopy machines, and phone systems in their work.

Administrative assistants will continue to have good job prospects, especially in specialized businesses (legal, medical, or university-based)

Entry-level skills: High school diploma or GED; excellent verbal and written communication skills; computer literacy; ability to use basic office equipment; ability to follow verbal and written instructions; detail-orientation
